Our property are located in the heart of Sheboygan County, just minutes away from a variety of activities, including golf, racing, fishing, hiking and watersports. We're just an hour away from Milwaukee and Green Bay and situated in an ideal location for the outdoor enthusiast, as well as those who like to enjoy area attractions and events by day and relax in the quiet solitude by night.
The Race Fan
Road America is one of the most-iconic race tracks in the world and a regular stop for major racing events from NASCAR, IndyCar & IMSA to Vintage weekends, drawing legendary racing personalities to nearby Elkhart Lake. Road America's four-mile, 14-turn road circuit has challenged the world’s best racers for over 57 years and the 640-acre, park-like grounds offer amazing spectator viewing opportunities, fantastic concessions and high-speed excitement to thousands of spectators each year. One of the best ways to take in all the action at the track is on a bicycle and we're close enough that you can ride your bike to the track!
The Golf Fanatic
Sheboygan County has become one of the top golf destinations in the world and there are few places where you’ll find so many options all within 20 miles of one another. Courses range from Wisconsin’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and courses designed by Pete Dye, to par-3 courses for golfers of all levels, Sheboygan County is a golfer’s paradise. Whistling Straits gets most of the attention, but Blackwolf Run and The Bull can be every bit as challenging. If you'd like to take in a practice round before heading over to the site of the 2021 Ryder Cup, Quit Qui Oc and Sir Lancelot golf courses are just minutes away. Our properties are also just over an hour away from Erin Hills, site of the 2017 US Open.
The Outdoor Enthusiast
Kohler-Andrae State Park is 20 minutes away on the shores of Lake Michigan and offers hiking trails, a public beach and swimming, as well as a designated beach for dogs and their owners.
Kettle Moraine State Forest is about 15 minutes to the West and covers almost 30,000 acres. The Northern Unit provides year-round activities, including, fishing, hiking, swimming, horse trails, hunting, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. For adventurous hikers, you can walk the Ice Age Trail, which runs through the length of the forest.
Feel free to take a bike ride down any country road to see picturesque barns, rolling fields and working dairy farms. Old Plank Road State Trail is a 17-mile bicycle touring trail that runs along Highway 23 from Sheboygan to Greenbush, which is home to the historic Wade House, a 240-acre open-air museum in Greenbush.
Approximately 25 miles of the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive run through western Sheboygan County, providing spectacular displays of fall color. County Highways A and S (part of the Rustic Road program) and the beautiful drive around Crystal Lake also offer delightful visual experiences. Peak color generally runs from late-September through mid-October.
The Fisherman
Our local lakes and rivers are known for some of the best bass fishing around. Gerber Lake, 5 minutes from The Country Farmhouse, is a haven for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Pan fish. If you’re into fresh water salmon and trout, Sheboygan is your port of call for charter fishing on Lake Michigan. With a myriad of charters available, you can spend the day on the lake and dine on fresh fish in the evening. The best trout and salmon fishing in the world is right at your door step. The Snowmobiler
Sheboygan County is home to 230 miles of snowmobile trails, including trails that run through the outskirts of our properties. When the snow flies, spend more time on your sled and less time on the road by taking in the trails of Sheboygan County. You can check local trail conditions here.
Take A Ride North
Plan a day trip to beautiful Door County, full of quaint towns, endless shops and gorgeous scenery – and still be “home” in time for a relaxing evening. Green Bay is home to the Packers and historic Lambeau Field. Even in the off-season, Packer fans can visit the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame or head over to try their luck at Oneida Bingo & Casino. The Manitowoc/Two Rivers area is just a 30-minute drive and home to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, which includes the World War II-era submarine, USS Cobia.
Take A Ride West
Oshkosh is one hour West of the property and home to the EAA AirVenture Museum and the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the largest airshow of its kind in the world. More than 10,000 airplanes and 500,000 spectators converge on Wittman Regional Airport in late July to take in the sights and sounds of everything from classic warbirds to the latest in aviation technology.
For those who enjoy finding a good bargain, The Outlet Shoppes at Oshkosh feature brand-name stores in an open, outdoor mall. Situated at the south end of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin’s largest inland lake, Fond du Lac is home to The Galloway House and Village, the Historic Octagon House, and a variety of parks and outdoor activities, including the beautiful Lakeside Park. Appleton is home to the Harry Houdini Historical Center, the Fox River Mall with over 135 stores and the Minor League Baseball Team, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Take A Ride South
Milwaukee is one hour South and home of the Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks. This friendly city is also known for the Harley-Davidson Museum, Potawatomi Bingo & Casino, Brewery Tours, Art Museums, ethnic festivals all summer long and Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, which takes place in late June and early July.
